Who we are
The Bloco Sambará Cultural Association is a non-profit organization based in Barcelona, dedicated to promoting and disseminating Brazilian culture—specifically Afro-Brazilian percussion and the *samba-reggae* style from Salvador de Bahía—through musical training, performances, and various cultural and participatory activities.
Our mission is to bring Afro-Brazilian culture to the public through educational programs, collective percussion practice, performances by Bloco Sambará, and the organization of workshops and musical experiences.
Through these activities, we foster learning, cultural participation, and the creation of spaces for people to come together through music—enabling individuals to grow, express themselves, and enjoy shared experiences.
Percussion School.
We offer training programs in samba-reggae and Afro-Brazilian percussion for individuals of all experience levels—from complete beginners to those looking to further develop their musical skills.
Bloco Sambará.
We organize percussion rehearsals and performances for participation in public celebrations, festivals, cultural events, and other musical activities.
Workshops and Participatory Experiences.
We conduct percussion-based activities for companies, educational institutions, organizations, and other groups. These sessions are tailored to specific needs and focused on learning, coordination, and collaborative musical creation.
Our mission in action
We share the rhythms, instruments, and knowledge linked to *samba-reggae* and the musical tradition of Salvador de Bahia through our classes, performances, and educational activities.
Our Vision
To be the most inspiring and recognized Bahian-style percussion community in Barcelona, combining artistic excellence, educational innovation, and a strong sense of belonging. All of this is rooted in respect for Afro-Brazilian culture and fostered through training conducted directly in Salvador de Bahia with local *Mestres* and *Mestrinhas* (masters).
Our Non-Profit Association
